On The Outside
Mechanically speaking, there has been no shortcuts taken with regard to the tow-ability. We have used a SupaGal 4x2in chassis and the same sized A Frame.
A neat-looking hoop-style rear bar supports the spare tyre. A seven-leaf slipper spring and shocker system is employed on the single 1690kg -rated axle.
The beauty of this van is ideally suited for most small vehicles on our roads. Under the chassis is a 60lt water tank, and four drop-down stabilising legs round out the package.
Braking is handled via 10in electric drum system, while a cable handbrake is fitted for parking. Alloy wheels shod with good ridge tyres add to the looks.
Other mechanicals include an Al-KO50m ball coupling, AL-KO 8in rubber jockey wheel and LED lights, plus a tap on the A-fame along with twin 4.5 gas bottles.
Body-wise, this pop-top is built around a Meranti timber frame that is fully insulated and aluminium clad.
Heavy-duty viny is used for the pop-top, which are taller than usual . This offers the 6ft 10in standing-room height inside the van. Great for the taller person.
On The Inside
There is a lift up door on the right near the entrance to the Waeco fridge. On the left of the main door is a Coolmatic MDC 12/240V fridge built into a rounded cabinet.
This cabinet provides storage as well as a shelf support for the flat-screen TV. Other entertainment goodies include DVD stereo unit that plays everything with twin speakers inside and out to provide sound.
Reception for the TV is via a Vinegar antenna.
The lounge/dining space is located on the driver side wall between the kitchen and the bedroom. It has
L-Shaped seating designed foe two people.
The queen-size bed at the front of the van is an island bed with innerspring mattress and plenty of storage underneath. Wardrobes and cupboards have been built either side of the bed while a small shelf above the head of the bed is ideal for drinks and the like. This shelf is a tad higher than shelves usually.
A water gauge, 12V halogen lighting and vinyl flooring.
Ventilation is supplied via four zippered windows in the pop-top section. Plus, tinted acrylic windows around the main body section and a Fantastic hatch in the roof.
The interior of the van every bit of space is used in some way, shape or form, yet there is still enough room to manoeuvre around. With the high roof allows plenty of standing height.
